Allscripts and Clinical Architecture Expand Partnership to Enhance Terminology Management for HIE clients

CHICAGO, Aug. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Allscripts (NASDAQ: MDRX) announced today that it will integrate Clinical Architecture’s comprehensive terminology management system,Symedical®, with the Allscripts dbMotion™ health information exchange platform for enhanced vocabulary management.

Symedical is a complete terminology system that is currently used by Allscripts for the management and automated distribution of clinical terminologies and provider friendly search at the point of care. This expanded use will leverage Symedical’s interoperability features for code set mapping, which include sophisticated matching algorithms, optimized workflow and the ability to promote consistency by using prior mapping selections to inform current decision processes.
